Ibiza Town - Ibiza - Spanje
Ibiza Town is Ibiza’s largest city and capital located on the southeast coast of the island. Although called Ibiza in English and Spanish, the official name in Catalan is Eivissa. It's divided into two main parts: the old town, called “Dalt Vila” (literally "Upper Town"), located in the little mountain by the sea, and the modern part, called “Eixample” (extension). The harbour in Ibiza Town is divided into the “Old Harbour” which is located on the waterfront beneath the Old Town and the “New Harbour”, often referred to as “Marina Botafoc” located across the water from the Old Harbour.
Ibiza Town has a population of around 50,000 people.
Sights include the cathedral of Santa Maria d'Eivissa (14th century), located on the top of Dalt Vila, and the Punic necropolis of Puig des Molins.
Ibiza Town is world famous for its spectacular nightlife. From the luxurious clubs and restaurants like Pacha, Lio and Cipriani, to the beautiful authentic and typical Ibicencan places in the Old Town like La Oliva, La Bodega and Pastis, Ibiza Town has something to offer for each taste.
